The QSN3 gas pipeline construction project is situated in the rolling red sand dunes and plains of the Strezlecki Desert – Cooper Basin. It is a harsh environment to work in and also culturally and environmentally sensitive.
The desert teamed with life due to the subsided flood waters of Cooper Creek and surrounds.
The flood waters, desert sand and searing temperatures were just some of the challenges faced by the men and women working on this project.
“I spent three days on location photographing the gas pipeline, construction, machinery and portraits. I met with and extracted stories from some great characters during my time working on this photographic assignment.
The industrial photography brief from Epic Energy, was to capture the spirit of the those working on the project for inclusion in a corporate gift coffee table style book. Logistically, the ladies and gents at Epic put in a huge effort. (and probably had a few sleepless nights ), to ensure that every thing went as smooth as possible.
Special thanks to those who made this happen and for the great cooperation and willingness of the NACAP and Epic Energy personnel.
I found it difficult to edit these pipeline construction photographs. There were so many that I loved from this fabulous experience.”
